A week seems longer now
than a fortnight used to. I hardly know
what has happened worthy of recording. I wonder
if he rode up the mountain last night.
I wonder if he is sleepy.
I know him too well to think
that any avoidable circumstance
kept him away. I have no reason
to doubt what he says.
